Frux, DEFINED

Frux, frugis (f) – the produce of the earth, grain, fruits, pulses, produce

This word has a very broad and unspecific definition – much like the modern English word “produce.” In a beer-relevant passage, Pliny the Elder uses the word to refer to grains that were then to make beer.
